Bone and Marrow Transplantation (B.M.T.) is a highly complex and resource-intensive treatment requiring a specialized multi-disciplinary team. Under the general supervision of B.M.T. leadership, the B.M.T. Clinical Social Worker 3 provides clinical social work services, including comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessment and treatment planning; ongoing psychosocial evaluation; counseling for adjustment to illness and the impact of treatment; psycho-education; and linkage with resources, e.g., support and financial assistance. Services are provided to patients and their caregivers in both out-patient and in-patient settings. The Clinical Social Worker III also participates in related department functions. A Master's Degree from an accredited school of social work and possession of the requirements necessary for application for licensure as a clinical social worker as determined by the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) - issued by the state of California.
A minimum of three (3) years post M.S.W experience.
Strong ability to provide advanced clinical social work interventions including crisis intervention, brief mental health services to individuals, couples, family counseling, anticipatory grief work, supportive counseling, group therapy, and mandated reporting.
Proven experience with the provision of social work services to oncology patients of diverse age groups, with sensitivity to the cross-section of the cultural population.
- Development and utilization of research to improve clinical practice and implement evidence-based psychosocial support programs, services, and interventions.
- Bilingual: English/Spanish
- Interest in research to advance clinical psychosocial knowledge in the provision of healthcare services to cancer patients.
- Demonstrated Oncology experience.
- Epic experience
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
