DESCRIPTION

Under supervision of a Clinical Laboratory Manager, the Lab Processing Supervisor supervises staff performing laboratory support tasks in an outpatient setting. Staff performs work such as phlebotomy, specimen collection, labeling, processing and delivery. Supervisor is responsible for meeting quality assurance standards as defined in the laboratory operating procedures. Involves provision of laboratory processing services and information for patient diagnosis and treatment by processing laboratory tests in toxicology, Chemistry, hematology, immunology, and microbiology laboratories; phlebotomy services, specimen collections, specimen processing and simple processing tasks. Assists with short term specimen storage and shipping.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Seven (7) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor’s degree in related area plus three (3) years relevant experience.

  • Experience and proven success in phlebotomy, laboratory processing concepts, procedures, processes, and equipment.

  • Ability to apply principles in a clinical laboratory setting.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Scientific Terminology

  • Thorough knowledge of laboratory regulations, laws, and ethical requirements.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT).
  • Previous supervisory experience.

  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
