Under the supervision of a Research Manager, the incumbent performs standard repetitive tasks to support Human Brain Imaging research. Provides research support, including organizing data, annotating data, and documenting data. The research unit is working with worldwide collaborators to organize an Electroencephalography (EEG) database, and the incumbent will communicate and coordinate with these actors to organize their data in the Brain Imaging Data Structure (BIDS) format, and help them post the data publicly. Analyzes EEG data under supervision of a Research Manager using the EEGLAB environment.
The incumbent ensures accuracy and completion of research files, performs data entry, and ensures completeness and accuracy of data for research studies. Attends weekly research meetings. Manages EEG experiment database, runs and adapts data processing scripts, conducts testing and ensures the proper functioning of laboratory apparatus. Programming knowledge in MATLAB is expected to run and adapt scripts and organize the output data. Participates in audits and special projects, as required. Collaborates with other lab team members and provides work direction to undergrad/graduate student workers and volunteers.
This position may work remotely, requiring a remote work agreement, anywhere in the United States. This position may be eligible for a flexible work arrangement, which could include a non-standard work schedule, and/or the ability to work off-site part of the time. The employee shall be available full-time during assigned work hours (specific hours to be discussed with supervisor).
Theoretical and practical knowledge in Cognitive Neuroscience or related field or an equivalent combination of education and laboratory work experience.
Working knowledge with EEG data collection apparatus, protocols and analysis.
Excellent written skills and knowledge of the English language. Demonstrated skill to communicate clearly and effectively in person and in writing.
Knowledge of general data analysis of quantitative data.
Experience working with databases.
Knowledge of regulations and procedures relating to documentations and archiving requirements for research participants.
Understanding of and demonstrated ability to follow Institutional Review Board (IRB) protocols.
Ability to communicate with researchers and helping them organize their data.
Experience with the MATLAB environment.
Ability to provide work direction to student employees and volunteers.
Experience with the Unix or Linux operating system environment command line
Experience in a neuroimaging research lab.
Must be able and willing to work overtime when required.
