Under general supervision and direction of the Department Manager, provides administrative support for the Department and the Manager. Uses computer resources to schedule and attend patient appointments. Obtains authorizations and verifies eligibilities. Greets and checks in patients. Orders supplies. Maintains time-keeping records and department meeting calendar. Answers and triages incoming calls. Sorts and distributes incoming mail. Distributes procedure reports. Maintain filing system for patient records. Interacts with faculty, clinic staff, administrators, and outside agencies (i.e., insurance companies, community medical groups).
Minimum one (1) year experience working in a healthcare environment.
Intermediate level skills in using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Proven knowledge of scheduling and authorization.
Good command of the English language, both verbal and written.
Excellent customer service skills.
- Spanish speaking.
- EPIC Scheduling.
- Knowledge of cardiology terminology.
- Experience in Cardiovascular clinics
- Knowledge of medical/scientific terminology.
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
