Under general supervision, provides administrative support to the UC San Diego Health Eating Disorders Center. Acts as primary resource to answer phones, screen and greet patients and visitors. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Generating and maintaining databases used in the functioning of the clinic. Creating and maintaining current patient information in Epic. Maintaining provider schedules. Assisting in coordinating purchases and monitoring office supplies, sorting/distributing mail & faxes. Assisting the Insurance team with obtaining proper documentation and collection of co-pays.

Process release of information requests. Performing onboarding and off-boarding of all staff members. Utilizing a thorough knowledge of this organization, independently respond to a variety of requests and disseminate information through excellent interpersonal communications skills, telephone and electronic communications. Initiates and composes correspondence and reports using a variety of protocols. Troubleshoots problems; handles highly confidential matters and materials. Function independently, exercising professional judgment, and maintaining confidential information. Other duties as assigned.


  • Graduation from high school or a GED; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, and two (2) years of experience performing administrative duties in a professional environment.

  • Proficient in the following: Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Superb customer service presence.

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, skilled on the phone, problem solving, conflict resolution.

  • Skilled with cash handling.

  • Strong written and communication skills.


  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Healthcare experience.


  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Job offer is contingent on successful engagement in the UC COVID-19 Vaccination program (fully vaccinated with documented proof or approved exception/deferral).

If applicable, life-support certifications (BLS, NRP, ACLS, etc.) must include hands-on practice and in-person skills assessment; online-only certification is not acceptable.
