Incumbent serves as Financial Business Director within Business & Financial Services providing strategic oversight and leadership to the campus-wide reconciliation team. This team provides overall support and direction to campus-wide departments, central offices, and financial units in the reconciliation of UC San Diego accounts. This includes the performance of advanced analytical, financial and operational management of selected projects, reports and communications as required by UC San Diego executive management and the University of California Office of the President (UCOP). Develop and manage information, reports, and data to make policy recommendations, implement associated processes and effectuate system/application changes to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
The director will meet directly with campus constituents to understand needs and provide counsel related to financial reconciliation. This includes developing reporting, communication, and training strategies in support of department fund managers. Will also lead and direct team in the analysis of all sources of financial information and data to ensure the integrity of reports and data. Provide key input and oversight for the management of the office operational budget and office operational resources/facilities.

- This position is expected to be fully remote initially and subject to change based on leadership determination in alignment with University guidance on flexible work arrangement policies and protocol.
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Advanced knowledge of business and process analysis functions. Knowledge and understanding of business and process analysis best practices, techniques and tools, and project management methodologies.
Understanding of and experience working with business processes and interrelationships including accounting software system evaluation and implementation, system standards, and system testing.
Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
Experience implementing and utilizing financial management software tools and data management tools
Demonstrated financial accounting experience
Experience assuring the integrity of project data, including data extraction, storage, manipulation, processing, and analysis.
Project management experience, including an understanding of how to interpret customer needs
Advanced skills and methodologies associated with process and software design, modification and implementation. Advanced level of understanding of programming techniques and capabilities with the ability to understand the infrastructure of comprehensive integrated systems.
Minimum five (5) years of financial and business analyst experience
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or similar disciplines.
Solid understanding of Oracle Financial Cloud and system functionality.
