Under the supervision of the Business Operations Manager (BOM), serves as on-site coordinator of department events such as weekly seminars, faculty and graduate student recruitment events, beginning and end of year celebrations, Economics Roundtable, and occasional conferences. Manages all facilities requests for the department. Provides routine administrative assistance as required.

  • Due to event oversight, occasional evenings or weekends may be required.

This position may be eligible for a Hybrid flexible work arrangement, which could include a non-standard work schedule, and/or the ability to work off-site part of the time. However, will need to be on-site for events, seminars, and as needed.


  • Experience with on-site events management and ability to effectively communicate with all constituents: vendors, staff, community, school partners, etc.

  • Demonstrated skill and experience in MS Office and Google suite including calendars and spreadsheets.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate clearly, effectively, tactfully, flexibly in person, by telephone, and in writing with a diverse population, including students, school administrators and staff.

  • Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal direction.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Ability to accurately prepare financial transactions.

  • Knowledge and ability to analyze and interpret U.C. policies, procedures and internal departmental procedures necessary to carry out the duties connected with all departmental operations (Payroll/timekeeping, staff personnel, travel, budget administration, bookkeeping, fiscal reporting, etc.).

  • Ability to review, analyze and process financial data, extract pertinent information, and prepare financial reports (using on-line financial systems, or internal spreadsheets).


  • Background Check required.
