The Donor Stewardship and Special Projects Analyst under general direction from the Senior Director Office of Gift Policy Administration and Donor/Fund Stewardship, is responsible for providing high-level project and donor stewardship support for the Gift Policy Administration and Donor/Fund Stewardship team (GPADFS). This position uses high level analysis of donor and gift data to optimize acknowledgment and stewardship processes, and also recommends and reviews existing reports to improve processes for sending out periodic segmented stewardship collateral. In addition, this position writes, produces, edits and reviews a variety of stewardship collateral and requires strong writing skills and excellent knowledge of English spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced financial service professional with a full understanding of industry practices and organizational policies and procedures. Resolves a wide range of issues. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Primarily deals with policies, programs, and proposals which are complex in nature and diverse in scope. Develops new programs, policies, or procedures for possible implementation.

  • Thorough knowledge of financial processes, policies and procedures.

  • Thorough knowledge of financial data management and reporting systems.

  • Strong proficiency in the use of spreadsheet and database software. Advanced proficiency in the use of spreadsheet and database software in the use of business computer applications, including word processing (mail merges, merge fields) relational databases, spreadsheets (functions: concatenate, custom sorts, conditional format) electronic mail, the Web, and social networks.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, analytical skills, service orientation, active listening, critical thinking, attention to detail, ability to multi-task in a high volume environment, organizational skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, sound judgment and decision making; ability to develop original ideas to solve problems.

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.

  • Strong leadership skills to provide guidance, coaching and mentoring to professional and support staff.

  • Experience comprehending, analyzing, and interpreting moderately complex financial data, written policies, and procedures. Experience to perform moderately complex mathematical computations with accuracy and make practical and effective decisions and recommendations.

  • Proven ability to use sound judgment, discretion, and sensitivity in dealing with correspondence, fundraising strategies and goals, faculty, development officers, and confidential information regarding donors.

  • Excellent ability to make effective written presentations to communicate ideas, policies, and procedures, and the ability to adapt to different writing styles to appropriately serve campus leadership and other campus administration.

  • Superior knowledge of correct English grammar usage, standards of business English, punctuation, proofreading, and editing. Ability to grasp and accurately communicate nuance and finer points of distinction. Proven success creating comprehensive narrative documents.

  • Working knowledge of the dynamics of fundraising and the concepts of development and advancement or equivalent. Experience using a constituent management database. Demonstrated knowledge of fundraising principles and practices in a higher-educational setting.


Job offer is contingent upon satisfactory clearance based on Background Check results.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $53,600 - $111,600 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $25.67 - $53.45

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
