The Sr. Clinical Laboratory Scientist Specialist's primary functions are to independently perform a wide variety of duties within their area of specialty. These duties include investigation/development of new/modified test procedures and technical review and monitoring of existing procedures. Coordination of quality control, quality assurance, and proficiency testing activities. Manage inventory. Responsibilities may include the identification of staff training needs and evaluating the competency of testing personnel. Develop and provide training, as well as develop, review, and update policies. Act as a technical consultant and resource for staff, Medical Enterprise, and the community. Instrument coordination includes end-to-end testing for new analyzers or test systems, Validation/Correlation Studies for new instruments. Work assignments are made by the Manager and/or Supervisor and/or Faculty on a daily or project basis.
Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS)
Must have a current Clinical Laboratory Scientist or appropriate sub-specialty license issued by the State of California, Department of Public Health.
Must have at least three (3) years of applicable clinical laboratory experience.
Have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing and be able to articulate complex ideas for all levels of audiences.
Experience developing and providing training.
Knowledge of clinical laboratory procedures, policies and HIPAA in order to comply with federal and state regulations.
- Five (5) years of applicable clinical laboratory experience.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Experience in Point of Care Testing.
- Experience in Quality Assurance and Management.
- Familiar with CAP checklists and requirements.
- Experience with CAP preparations and inspections.
Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays, overtime and at various locations as necessary in accordance with operational needs.Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
