DESCRIPTION

The Medical Education Division supports the education, training and co-curricular activities of 536 medical students, 800 residents and fellows, as well as the faculty, physician and healthcare providers at UCSD’s School of Medicine, its' Medical Centers, and affiliates. It consists of Admissions & Student Affairs (including Health Sciences Financial Aid), Undergraduate Medical Education, Graduate Medical Education, Continuing Medical Education, Diversity & Community Partnerships, Anatomical Preparation Services, Educational Computing, Events Management, the Simulation Training Center and a central business office. The School of Medicine Graduate Programs consist of the Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program, Neurosciences Graduate Program, Medical Scientist Training Program and the Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship Program.

The Clinical Placement & Credentialing Coordinator (CPCC) assures the effectiveness of instruction on campus and at UC San Diego School of Medicine affiliated clinical sites to achieve outcomes consistent with competencies for entry into the Physician's Assistant (PA) profession. The CPCC also serves as a liaison between the PA Program and the local healthcare community. This position may require some travel regionally with occasional weekend work. This position will report to the program’s Program Coordinator with guidance and direction from the program’s Associate Director of Clinical Education & Simulation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Six (6) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor’s degree in related area plus two (2) years of related experience/training.

  • Ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.

  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff verbally and in writing.

  • Solid organizational skills and ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.

  • Working knowledge of common organization-specific and other computer application programs.

  • Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong project management skills.
  • Prior experience in physician assistant, medical education (undergraduate or graduate) clinical placement.
  • Previous experience with clinical education management platforms (e.g. E*Value, Exxat, MedHub, Typhon, eMedley) and Canvas LMS experience.

Pay Transparency Act Full Salary Range: $60,782 - $93,960 Annually

The University of California, San Diego is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The full salary range for this position is defined as the Full Pay Range. The budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position defined as the Expected Pay Scale. Placement within the Expected Pay Scale is determined by internal equity, relevant qualifications, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
