Candidates hired into this position will have the option to work hybrid onsite/remote schedule. This is not a full time remote position
This position will remain open until filled.
Involves the development and implementation of the organization's information systems and tools that are applied to clinical information. Works closely with clinicians across all hospital / healthcare departments to optimize effective use of systems. Coordinates analytical support for health management, including profiling, health economics, and business analytics / performance metrics. Defines systems and applications to support various functions. May provide customer service, troubleshooting and maintenance.
Provides direct supervision typically to professionals or skilled technical employees. Functions as advisor to unit and administration. Analyzes and resolves problems, interprets policies (e.g., fiscal management, HR, contracts and grants, resource management in defined areas) and demonstrates solid subject matter knowledge. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action. Supervises staff to assure accountability and stewardship of department resources (operational, financial, and human) in compliance with departmental goals and objective.
Receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and the process by which to attain them. Provides direction, sets priorities, and analyzes workflow for clinical informatics subordinate staff, according to established policies and management guidance. Provides senior management with input on personnel matters and recommendations for changes to department policies and practices.
Manage’s team supporting UCSD Health Medical Center, Physician Group, Covid reponse, Ancillary services in both operational and strategic projects. Reports and Tableau’s developed by this team are embedded in daily huddles and executive reviews.
Nine (9) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor’s degree in related area plus five (5) years of related experience/training.
Professional experience and proven success performing clinical workflows, user interface optimization, clinical decision support, rules development, data integration and mining, clinical ontologies and adoption of technology.
- Certification in an assigned EMR vendor's product/module.
- Supervisory/Management experience.
- Experience in Business Intelligence (Tableau, PowerBI, QlikSense, etc.)
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
