DESCRIPTION

Under work direction of the Changemaker Institute Assistant Director, the Program Coordinator will provide support in Changemaker and College Corps website maintenance, community outreach to campus and community partners to promote Changemaker Initiatives, and assist in the coordination of UC San Diego’s College Corps program.

The incumbent will be responsible for supporting efforts in the College Corps program within Changemaker Institute, including: outreach, data management through GivePulse and other databases and assessment tools, direct community partner support, and the development of program materials in collaboration with campus and community partners. The incumbent will provide support in facilitating College Corps and Changemaker workshops/webinars, as well as guidance for students and community partners participating in or looking to participate in College Corps.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

  • Strong relationship building and relationship management. Ability to work in a team environment and work with campus and community partners. Ability to maintain confidentiality and safeguard sensitive information. Demonstrated commitment and follow-though on projects.

  • Basic knowledge of advising and counseling techniques. **General knowledge of student-centered philosophy focusing on student development.

  • Skills in service orientation, active listening, critical thinking. **Skill in working in a service environment including participant recruitment and orientation, program marketing, theory-based curriculum development, presentation development and facilitation, and learning outcome assessment.

  • Knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs. **Strong familiarity with G-Suite, MS Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, preferred experience with online resources and survey software.

  • Abilities in problem identification, reasoning.

  • Ability to multi-task, verbal communication, written communication and organization skills. Good communication skills and experience with coalition building, as this position requires plenty of coordination and time with a variety of stakeholders (students, staff, faculty, community partners).

  • Strong interest in supporting social justice efforts within the Changemaker Institute.

  • Knowledge and understanding of the needs of a diverse student population. Ability to interact with diverse student population, including individuals from varied racial and socio-economic backgrounds.

  • Familiarity with program coordination, assessment, and evaluation.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, pay close attention to detail, and be highly organized.

  • Demonstrate courtesy, professionalism and leadership skills.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

  • This position is eligible for hybrid work location upon approval by supervisor. The incumbent will be expected to be in-person for three days per week on UC San Diego’s main and downtown campuses, with the option to work virtually two days per week.

  • Overtime and weekends may be required.

  • Job offer is contingent on clear background check.

  • Mandated Reporter: This position has been identified as a Mandated Reporter pursuant to the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and requires immediate reporting of physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, or neglect of anyone under the age of 18. It is the responsibility of the Mandated Reporter to ensure that they obtain proper training in order to fulfill their reporting responsibilities as required by the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and University policy, and to complete and submit the required reports to the UC San Diego Police Department without delay.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $37,900 - $85,300 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $18.15 - $40.85

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
