DESCRIPTION
Under general supervision of the OR Materials Manager, responsible for assembling surgical case carts with proper surgical instrumentation and other necessary surgical supply items. Serves as a liaison between OR Materials Management, Sterile Processing Department and Operating Room staff to assure smooth, uninterrupted daily materials support. Coordinates, pulls from inventories, and prepares necessary supplies and instruments for emergent and routine surgical cases. Ensures proper supplies for each case are delivered as needed, and works closely with Service Coordinators and Sterile Processing Department to promote a team effort in meeting surgical case needs.
Inspects all packaging and wrapped or rigid containers for integrity of sterile inventory & instrumentation. Collaborates with Materials Management staff on stock rotation in order to prevent inventory expiration. Supports Materials Management purchasing team with advance notice of low stock items and empty bins to ensure adequate supplies. Identifies and anticipates potential problems by taking action to prevent or minimize the effect of the issue. Facilitates continuous communications and performance improvement as it relates to all surgical instruments, implants, supplies, and equipment. Performs other related functions as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Two (2) years of related supply/materials management experience, preferably in a large, complex healthcare environment.
Demonstrated experience with the receipt of deliverables.
Proven ability to sort and store supplies in a neat, clean, and well organized manner.
Ability to break down and remove cardboard packaging and shipping materials, rotate and replenish stock items, and pull and process outdated supply items according to established practice.
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
Working knowledge of MS Office.
Highly detail oriented, with an ability to multitask and manage shifting priorities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of EPIC, Pro Click.
- Medical terminology training and/or certificate.
- Familiarity with hospital supplies and surgical instruments for the purposes of material management.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $46,646 - $58,026 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $22.34 - $27.79
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
