DESCRIPTION

Responsible for the daily management of Bone Marrow Transplant and CAR-T billing and collections inventory for commercial and government insurance payors.

Perform daily billing and collection activities to submit encounter and/or bundled service claims to insurance companies according to reimbursement contract. Coordinate with internal and external resources to obtain all information needed for clean claim submissions according to insurance billing guidelines, reimbursement contracts and State/Federal billing regulations for hospital and physician providers of Bone Marrow and CAR-T services rendered. Work in partnership with Bone Marrow Transplant department leadership and staff. Work in partnership with physician billing leadership and staff to achieve bundle billing submissions and payment distribution according to reimbursement contracts. Perform claim processing trend analysis to identify and support the improvement of system workflow issues, insurance denials and claim payment trends . Consistently attend internal/external department and insurance claim processing trainings to ensure up-to-date knowledge and practice of policy and regulatory guidelines.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Seven (7) years of related experience, education/training in hospital billing and collections, OR a Bachelor’s degree in related area plus three years of related experience/training in hospital billing and collections.

  • Experience and proven success in billing and / or collections processes, concepts, systems and external regulations. Knowledge of medical terminology and coding.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in billing and collecting claims to commercial and government insurance companies for hospital contracts related to Bone Marrow Transplant services.

  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
