Position Overview:

Serves as the Associate Director Organizational Development & Program Management in Organizational Excellence (OE) ---a division of Business & Financial Services (BFS). Responsible for overseeing enterprise level training efforts that support alignment of campus business and financial processes to include adoption and optimization of the Oracle Financial Information Systems (FIS), a Common Chart of Accounts, and other enterprise-level solutions (i.e., UCPath, financial systems etc) as assigned to fully integrate UC San Diego, Foundation and the Medical Center with UC-wide financial systems modernization initiatives.

Provides leadership in change management, training, integrated communications & marketing, and execution of various projects, plans. Measures the effectiveness of processes, programs, and initiatives to include development of data analytics (KPIs) and standard PMP indicators. Develops learning & training solutions that provide employees opportunities for growth and development. In consultation with division leadership & BFS Core Leadership Team (BFS-CLT) drive improvement in building an inclusive talent pipeline and strategic framework that attracts and retains diverse employees.

As a member of the OE Leadership Team; participates fully in strategic planning, formulation of goals and objectives, and decision-making.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training. Advanced degree preferred.

  • Proven experience in organizational development, project development, change management, business process design, performance measurement and leadership of complex projects with broad impact.

  • Strong leadership skills with demonstrated experience in personnel management & supervision, performance management, organizational administration and strategic planning.

  • Advanced skills to create, develop, and implement short-term and long-term strategic communication, marketing, and training plans.

  • Demonstrated experience with HR, financial and accounting practices, systems and industry standards. Understanding of enterprise integrated financial systems to manage institutional learning objectives

  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft software applications (i.e.,Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook, Access, Visio) or equivalent tools

  • Demonstrated ability to execute, and finalize projects according to deadlines and within budget; mitigate risks to project success; define project objectives and oversee quality control through each project’s life cycle.

  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to deliver well thought-out presentations that are persuasive, informative, and effectual to all audiences using current technology

  • Ability to analyze information, situations, problems, policies and procedures and to isolate problems from symptoms, identify potential solutions and ensure resolution.

Preferred

  • Advanced degree in management or business-related field and six (6) years professional experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Project Management Professional (PMP), Change Management, Lean Six Sigma certification(s).
