DESCRIPTION

In collaboration with the Nurse Manager, Interventional Radiology (IR), the Nursing Director, Interventional Radiology and Clinic Medical Director, the Ambulatory Clinic Supervisor provides operational leadership and direct oversight of the delivery of clinical services for the interventional radiology ambulatory clinics. Position will partner with other site managers/staff in support of multiple sub-specialty medicine clinics.

The IR Ambulatory Clinic Supervisor supervises and provide oversight of daily clinic operations. Oversight of front/back office operations, daily clinic flow, ensures that internal standards and external regulations are followed. Key responsibilities include, but not limited to, patient experience, personnel management, operational support to clinical faculty and staff, process & work flow evaluations & enhancements, equipment and facilities management, information technology, safety, data reporting, compliance and licensing. The IR Ambulatory Clinic Supervisor will propose changes to improve operational efficiencies, resolve system issues, advise on work methods, manage scheduling based on patient volume. In addition, develop, revise and implement clinic policies and procedures. Monitors and partners with staff/providers/PG leadership to align clinic with system goals. Ensures ongoing regulatory rounding is completed, participates in rounding and ensures resolution to identified deficiencies.

In addition to the direct clinic operations and flow, the Ambulatory Clinic Supervisor has oversight of administrative personnel including area leads, triage/case coordination nurses, medical assistants, interventional radiology scheduling teams and front desk personnel. The supervisor will work closely and collaboratively with CMD, faculty and staff, revenue cycle, centralized registration and authorizations, UCSD Health Physician Group (UCSD-PG) administrators and leadership, and other key stakeholders to optimize IR’s clinical operations.

The IR Ambulatory Clinic Supervisor is a key member of the department leadership team and works closely with leaders, faculty and staff to develop and deliver an efficient, high-volume, high-quality, patient-centered experience to support the Division and Department’s research, education, and clinical care missions. Reports directly to the Nurse Manager, Interventional Radiology.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in related area; and/or equivalent combination of experience/training.

  • A minimum of five (5+) years or more years of relevant experience.

  • Experience and proven success in skills to effectively supervise patient care support staff. Strong knowledge of clinical services operations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working in an ambulatory clinic preferably with Interventional Radiology patients.
  • Experience with Epic.
  • Experience with Tableau & Excel.
  • Experience with budgets.
  • Experience with staffing/scheduling in a union environment.

  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
