Under general supervision of the Administrative Specialist Supervisor, the Receptionist Assistant is responsible for a variety of clerical duties in support of daily patient services within clinical areas; answer all clinic calls using UCSD Experience guidelines and follow telephone guidelines. Assist with triaging all calls and transferring to appropriate staff. Responsible for customer services, greeting arriving patients for their appointments, verifiesinsurance eligibility and benefits, collect co-payments and make deposits daily. Assist with confirming patient appointments. Serve as a liaison for physicians, nurses and other radiation oncology staff. Use multiple computer systems simultaneously. Other duties assigned as needed.
- Two (2) years of previous related experience in healthcare setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology.
- Experience in verifying insurance eligibility and benefits.
- Experience working with the medical center's various computer programs, including PCIS, EPIC, IDX, RIS.
- Experience working in Radiation Oncology, Oncology, or any cancer-related clinic setting.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
