This position will be working a schedule that is hybrid: part-time remote and part-time in the office


This position is part of the accreditation and educational development team in the Continuing Medical Education (CME) unit and provides program administration for accredited CME activities, including administration of applications, credit certification, educational planning, policies and procedures, compliance documentation, adherence to guidelines, maintenance of certification, evaluation and assessment, and annual reporting of program data. Oversees and provides ongoing support for the accreditation and certification platform and reporting of activities, learner data, and other compliance metrics. Creates partnerships with faculty and staff to develop alliances that contribute to the accomplishment of the UC San Diego CME mission.

Coordinates all evaluation and assessment efforts of accredited activities, including the scheduling, creation, testing, workflow, deadlines, deployment, and reporting of learner assessment documentation, tools, and templates. Serves as point person for faculty, coordinators, learners, and other stakeholders for accreditation, evaluation, and certification related matters. Provides advice, guidance, and training opportunities for coordinators, staff, and faculty using multiple methods such as in-person and virtual trainings, development of video tutorials, and other digital tools.

Serves as point of contact for CME learning management system and develops instructions, trainings and best practices to other team members, customers, and other stakeholders. Provides continuous assessment, configuration, and analysis of educational technologies used in the management of accreditation, evaluation, and certification. Identifies, recommends, and incorporates best practices in activity management and modifies CME’s accreditation policies and procedures in collaboration with Manager of Accreditation and Educational Development and other CME team members to accommodate new accreditation requirements and emerging educational needs.

Participates in program and / or departmental work groups, teams, task forces and committees to support ongoing health professions education program functions. Provides staffing of CME courses and events as needed.


  • Four (4) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor’s degree in related area

  • Basic knowledge of relevant policies and regulatory requirements. Basic knowledge of health professions education industry.

  • Basic knowledge of administrative analysis and operations research. Acquiring skills in developing and implementing processes and systems. Familiarity with the administrative and operational implications in a program.

  • Communication skills; includes verbal, written and active listening. Service oriented and responsive to questions and requests. Ability to interact in a professional, resourceful, and courteous manner.

  • Effective interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to develop working relationships within department and with learners.

  • Excellent organizational skills, analytical, and demonstrated attention to detail. Ability to work with extremely complex faculty calendars / schedules requires extremely well organized and detail oriented precision.

  • Knowledge of educational technology and systems. Ability to troubleshoot and triages related technology issues.

  • Investigative, data analysis, and reporting skills. Ability to generate computer reports, checking for errors, correcting and submitting accurate reports. Skills include entering, maintaining, extracting, and analyzing data in electronic systems.

  • Analytic and data/systems experience, professionalism and communication skills.


  • Experience managing accreditation data and associated reporting deliverables.
  • Strong knowledge of ACCME criteria and guidelines, overarching CME accreditation processes, and requirements for academic approval of courses for accreditation.
  • Ability to orient course coordinators and faculty to administrative procedures and ACCME regulations.


  • Job offer is contingent upon satisfactory clearance based on Background Check results.
  • Occasional evenings and weekends may be required.
