Incumbent serves as Accounts Receivable & Revenue Manager in Financial Operations ---a division of Business & Financial Services (BFS). This position provides oversight for full cycle revenue accounting and accounts receivable management including day to day operations management. Ensures the accurate compilation, analysis, and reporting of accounting data and revenue. Oversees collections, payment application, and accounts receivable operations and serves as the main point of contact for revenue management activities. Oversees guidance, training and support to financial officers and campus liaisons involved in revenue accounting and accounts receivable.
This position designs policy and procedures, as well as, leads the team of supervised staff's effort to provide accounting support and policy guidance to UC San Diego departments. Develops, implements, upgrades and maintains numerous accounting and control processes and automated systems to facilitate the processing of accounting information, its analysis and reporting. Responsible for records maintenance; Participates in team and work group activities and in accounting and systems special projects. This position operates with substantial latitude for independent action and decision making in its major functional responsibilities. Assigns, directs, and reviews work of designated staff, perform personnel supervision and direction to meet both Unit and Division goals and objectives. As a member of the Financial Operations Leadership Team, incumbent is responsible for developing and implementing divisional strategic plans and objectives.

This position is expected to be fully remote initially and subject to change based on leadership determination in alignment with University guidance on flexible work arrangement policies and protocol.
Bachelor's degree in related area
Advanced knowledge of accounting function. Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of accounting principles (including GAAP& GASB Accounting), theory and practice, and knowledge and experience in applying fund accounting principles.
Proven leadership experience and skills to provide positive guidance, coaching and mentoring to professional, support staff and student employees. Ability to establish and maintain supportive interpersonal relationships with colleagues and to provide quality and courteous service to all customers.
Demonstrated experience analyzing and summarizing complex accounting data, perform complex reconciliations, resolve complex accounting problems, prepare financial statements.
Advanced ability to effectively present complex accounting and finance related information verbally and in writing.
Proven experience using financial transactions and systems, as well as related policy, accounting, and unique regulatory compliance requirements.
Advanced knowledge of common desktop / web applications.
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; service orientation skills.
Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance and six (6) years of professional level accounting experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Advanced Degree and/or Professional Certification (CPA license).
General knowledge and/or experience with Oracle Financial Cloud platform.
