DESCRIPTION
Involves accounting functions such as processing invoices, payments, assists with monthly financial closings. Provide administrative support to the finance team, including data entry, filing and maintaining purchase orders. Also may involve preparation of financial reports to meet internal and external reporting requirements, assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable and other duties as assigned. This role requires strong attention to detail and a solid understanding of basic accounting principles. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive attitude toward solving financial discrepancies. Additionally, the Accounting Assistant will collaborate with other departments to ensure financial accuracy and compliance with UCSD policies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Associate degree in related area or Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration or related area, and/or equivalent combination of experience/training.
One (1) year experience in all areas of billing in a healthcare or similar setting.
Experience in accounting, with proven basic accounting-related skills.
Proven Excel intermediate knowledge.
Demonstrated PowerPoint intermediate knowledge.
Experience in month-end closing.
Ability to read, write and communicate technical and financial information, technically skilled.
Excellent communication skills.
Must be detailed oriented.
Ability to work as a team.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Two to three (2 - 3) years of relevant experience.
- AP/AR and or billing with knowledge of cash handling process.
- * Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
- Ability to solve problems, to work under minimal supervision, to multi-task, and to remain organized.
- Ability to prioritize work.

- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $49,400 - $82,200 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $23.66 - $39.37
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
