Under supervision, the individual will be responsible for organizing, processing, and analyzing brain recording data (local field potentials, single unit activity and EEG data), measured from both animals and humans. The incumbent will also assist with developing and setting up pre-processing pipelines, help statistically analyze results, and implement various dimensionality reduction/machine-learning types of analyses.


  • Six years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor’s degree in related area plus two years of related experience/training.

  • Proven ability to research new and innovative ways to process brain data across studies.

  • Skills to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing. Excellent communication skills and strong organizational skills.

  • Excellent time management and strong demonstrated organizational and multi-tasking skills including establish priorities, meet multiple and frequently changing deadlines with flexibility, process a high volume of work while under pressure, and maintain a high level of accuracy.

  • Working skills in statistical analysis, systems programming, database design and data security measures.

  • Working skills in analysis and consultation.

  • Demonstrated experience performing brain analysis using Matlab or Python.

  • Proven ability to contribute to image processing pipeline development and troubleshooting.

  • Demonstrated experience harmonizing imaging data and QCs data prior to analysis.

  • Demonstrated experience with a wide range of computer programming languages (python, matlab, R, java) and machine-learning analytic models.

  • Demonstrated ability to initiate new analytic studies using existing data from single or multi-site studies.

  • Proven ability to initiate new experimental projects in collaboration with other researchers based on data analyses.


  • Master's degree or Ph.D degree in related field.

  • Experience writing papers.

  • Background or experience in engineering, computational neuroscience or similar field.

  • Experience supervising junior data analysts and students.


  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check.
