Under supervision the incumbent performs journey-level procedures as they relate to electroencephalographic studies. The EEG Technologist is competent in performing the following studies: routine EEG; sleep deprived EEG; portable EEG: bedside prolonged EEG: ambulatory EEG: long-term monitoring hookups/baseline recordings. Communicates with the technical director in regards to daily operations. Incumbent assists with program development as needed. Performs other related tasks as required.
Proven experience performing the following EEG and EP-related studies: routine EEG; sleep deprived EEG; portable EEG: bedside prolonged EEG: ambulatory EEG: long-term monitoring hookups/baseline recordings; Visual Evoked Potentials (VEP); Brainstem Auditory Evoked Potentials (BAEP); WADA Study; Median SSEP; Posterior Tibial SSEP; EOG; ERG w/corneal and skin electrodes; ECOG; and ECOG brain mapping.
A minimum of six (6) years of field experience as an EEG Technologist.
Graduate of a AMA accredited EEG Technologist program and ABRET Board registered.
The Principal EEG Technologist must be ABRET EEG Board certified.
The Principal EEG Technologist must be ABRET CLTM Board certified within two (2) years of employment and maintain CEU's thereafter.
For Principal EEG Technologist, the followingcriteria are to be maintained each 12 month PEcycle: Maintain CEU's for EEG and CLTM BoardCertifications; Principal EEG Technologists arerequired to complete 6 CEU's per 12 monthperiod, per certification (12 total).Attend 6 epilepsy conferences per 12 monthperiod.EEG Record review 10 hours per 12 monthperiod.Present EEG/Epilepsy-related topics 6 timesper 12 month period.Meet all competency standards for performingelectrophysiological studies of Job Code 9059.Maintain CLTM certification to maintain thePrincipal EEG Technologist job classification.
BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date
