Under close supervision, the Clinical Social Worker will work as Eating Disorder Clinical Social Worker providing individual, group, and family psychotherapy to patients in the UCSD Eating Disorder Day Treatment Program. Act as the primary case manager for relatively straightforward, less complex patients (assigned by supervisor).
Case management may include coordination of care with other providers, obtaining ongoing authorization of treatment, and providing weekly therapy sessions. Administer assessments to patients in the Day Treatment program that will inform their diagnosis and treatment plan. Attend weekly trainings, workshops, and report on patient progress in weekly treatment team meetings.
A Master's Degree from an accredited school of social work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated experience in providing mental health services to patients with eating disorders.
Proven training, education, or experience in assisting patients in developing skills to become autonomous, high-functioning members of society (e.g.,vocational psychology).
Demonstrated experience in administering assessments related to eating disorders, anxiety, and mood.
Knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
Demonstrated experience in providing meal support to patients with eating disorders.
Strong experience in providing case management or psychotherapy to individuals with eating disorders.
Working knowledge of the most current DSM categories and differential diagnosis.
Knowledge and skill in problem-focused psychotherapeutic approaches.
Proven ability to conduct psychiatric and functional assessments and formulate the current DSM diagnoses.
Demonstrated ability to form constructive working relationships with eating disorder patients.
Experience providing Family-Based Treatment for Anorexia Nervosa.
Experience with manualized anxiety treatments and exposure and response prevention.
Experience working in a partial hospitalization program for adolescents.
Experience in providing psychological treatment to individuals with eating disorders.
Demonstrated experience in providing comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy to patients.
Experience supervising individual and multifamily meals as part of a partial hospitalization program.
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
