Incumbent serves as Logistics Support Specialist - Surplus Sales within Logistics ---a division of Integrated Procure-to-Pay Solutions (IPPS) housed within Business & Financial Services (BFS). This position will be responsible for supporting our clients (internal & external) related to the various daily functions of Moving Services and Surplus Sales in person, via telephone and email. Incumbent will operate a variety of material handling and transport equipment including pallet jacks, lifting equipment, forklifts, delivery trucks / vans up to 24’.
Additionally, this position will be responsible for sorting and assessing incoming excess material for disposition by sale, scrap or disposal along with estimating and assessing resources required to relocate or remove material from various sites. Also, safely transporting, unpacking and setting up new equipment and furniture in a variety of lab, office, and shop settings while providing limited work direction to various team members including temporary employees.

Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with ability to interact and effectively work with a diverse group of clients and coworkers using tact, diplomacy and a cooperative attitude. Ability to defuse or de-escalate any developing conflicts in the workplace.
Experience safely operating a variety of material handling and transport equipment including but not limited to pallet jacks, lift gates, lifting equipment, forklifts, delivery trucks and vans up to 24"
Skilled in safe use of hand and power tools for assembly and disassembly of furniture and equipment including but not limited to drills, saws, sanders, grinders.
Knowledge of principles and practices related to customer delivery, materials handling, space allocation, inventory control, safety and security.
Basic knowledge of internal components of personal computers (processor, RAM, HDD/SSD); ability to test and assess configuration quickly.
Familiarity with electronic computing devices (P.C., tablet, handheld, smartphone, digital camera, bar code scanner). Ability to use Microsoft products and internal technology and corresponding applications as appropriate in an office setting or in the field.
Basic electrical and mechanical skill set for trouble shooting and assessment of equipment.
Job offer is contingent upon satisfactory clearance based on Background Check results.
Valid California Drivers License to drive standard transmission (one ton truck) and forklift.
Must be able to lift and carry items up to 75 lbs
