Under general supervision, the Lead Storekeeper participates in and may oversee the ordering, receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing and shipping of medical devices and related materials and supplies for clinical inventory areas. Researches cost, quality and availability of goods. Issues and ships medical supplies. Evaluates supply needs, reviews utilization reports, consults with hospital staff in planning the range and quantity of items needing stocking. Manages stock in a manner accepted by the medical industry. Insures sterile products are handled correctly. Other lead duties as assigned. Job standards are to be performed at the EXPERT level.
Must have valid California Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
Three (3) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of storekeeping best practices.
Demonstrated knowledge of receiving, requisitioning etc.
Proven experience using an MMIS.
Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic calculations.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to effectively communicate with vendors and customers.
- Five (5) years of relevant experience.
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
- Must be available to work weekends, variable days and hours, holidays, and occasional overtime.
- Ability to bend, squat, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
- May be required to work at multiple sites (Hillcrest and La Jolla hospitals and CALM/10300 Campus Pt. Drive, KOP, and Rancho Bernardo locations).
