DESCRIPTION

Under the supervision of the Nursing Director for Infusion, BMT and Cellular Therapy, and the BMT Nurse Manager the Nurse Coordinator will serve as a consultant and liaison for patients and their families in collaboration with attending physicians, advanced practice providers, social workers, financial and administrative staff, inpatient and outpatient nursing staff and community organizations.

Independently assess and develop pre-cellular therapy plan of care. Provide specific teaching, counseling, consultation and nursing care. Consult with attending physicians to determine suitability, eligibility, coordinate donor collection, cell processing and recipient admissions through the continuum of care. Serve as the Immune Effector Cell (IEC) Nurse Coordinator for all IEC Therapy.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the state of California.

  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.

  • A minimum of two years of BMT experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Blood & Marrow Transplant (BMTCN) or Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN).
  • Risk Evaluation Mitigation Strategy(REMS) and Immune Effector Cell (IEC)training.
  • Bilingual: English/Spanish.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

  • Must be available for overtime.
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
