The Division of Education Services provides a unique and exceptional education experience for all scholars, regardless of training level, within the UCSD Department of Radiology, by integrating and aligning all Radiology educational activities with the overall goals and mission of the Department and the UCSD School of Medicine.
Education Services supports the following programs: Diagnostic Radiology Residency, Clinical Fellowships, Visiting Scholars, Medical Students, and Continuing Medical Education Courses, including coordination of the residency recruitment process; Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS); resident evaluation process using the MedHub; clinical rotation schedules and managing statistical resident data for the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).Serves as the Department of Radiology training verification coordinator.
The Housestaff in Radiology is comprised of 45 plus residents in various stages of the program, chief residents, research residents, and 30 clinical fellows from 8 clinical divisions in the Department of Radiology. Other programs include: Med Ed Courses - 7 courses (70-100 students per year); Visiting Scholars - 100+ scholars per year; Review Courses - RRRC, VIR, Breast Img/IR, PGRC; CME Courses - 10+ courses (including 20 attendees per MRI course week, 6 weeks/year).
Under direct supervision of the Administrative Supervisor, incumbent provides independent and analytical administrative support to the Department of Radiology Division of Education Services supporting the following programs: Diagnostic Radiology Residency, Clinical Fellowships, Visiting Scholars, Medical Students, and Continuing Medical Education Courses. Serves as the Department of Radiology training verification coordinator. In coordination with the program administrator generates and distributes statistical data and reports. Provides administrative support for the Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program including coordination of the residency recruitment process; Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS); resident evaluation process using the MedHub Residency Management Suites clinical rotation schedules and managing statistical resident data for the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)
Proficiency in the use of spreadsheet, database management, and word processing software in a windows environment; demonstrate skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, internet, and email.
Knowledge of the Med Hub and/or Electronic Residency Application Service. Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp new computer and web applications for various surveys, etc.
General knowledge of ACGME Residency Program Requirements.
Proven experience in development of systems to track, monitor, and report programs and program compliance.
Excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, including the ability to interact constructively and effectively with a diverse group of people to include faculty, fellows, visiting scholars, physicians, staff, administration, community agencies, and the public.
Experience creating and maintaining databases and spreadsheets; ability to generate reports and statistical information, and to interpret and analyze results.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including excellent grammar and spelling and the ability to proofread own work.
Strong experience providing administrative support in an office setting. Accurate clerical skills, including typing (minimum 65 WPM) and basic accounting skills.
- Knowledge of UCSD travel/accounting/purchasing processes, tools, and forms.
- General information knowledge of UCSD departments and their locations and UCSD policies and procedures.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check.
- Physical ability to walk frequently to various Medical Center locations. Must have access to reliable transportation. Overtime may be required.
