DESCRIPTION

The UC San Diego Rady School of Management provides business education through its many graduate business degree programs, PhD program, and undergraduate business program. The Rady School of Management Recruiter/Admissions Advisor is responsible for both recruitment and admissions responsibilities with the majority of the responsibilities focused on recruiting and yielding prospective students. This position focuses on recruitment for our Rady MBA program and also interacts with all who are interested in any Rady graduate business degree program, working as part of our tight-knit Admissions/Recruitment team.

This UC San Diego Rady School of Management Recruiter/Admissions Advisor recruits applicants to our well-respected, innovative graduate business programs, focusing on the Rady MBA program. The position seeks out prospective applicants, providing information and guidance to a high-achieving, highly goal oriented audience, communicating the value of an advanced business degree and potential impact on their career. The position advises prospective students through the admission process, communicating admissions requirements, at the Rady School. This position is tasked with growing the enrollment pipeline, seeking out competitive prospective applicants, and yielding admitted applicants to reach the Rady School's targeted enrollment goals.

The position advises applicants throughout the application process and communicates the curriculum (including required and elective coursework options), program outcomes, and other opportunities available to students. The position provides individualized assessment of prospective applicants' career goals, previous academic background, and work experience, analyzing the prospective applicants' suitability to the Rady degree programs. The position may interview applicants in person or virtually; completes interview assessments and creates admissions recommendations. This position may serve as part of, or provide information to, the Rady Admissions Committee but the primary focus in on interacting with prospective MBA applicants and admitted applicants leading to successful enrollment.

Other duties include: (1) using market research to develop personalized outreach to prospective applicants to our Masters programs; (2) implementing outreach and personalized recruitment activities re: admissions requirements, admissions logistics, career options, application process and tuition issues; and (3) monitoring yield, including the ratio of successful applicants that transform into enrollments.

  • Occasional overtime and/or weekends due to special events, admission fairs/events, graduation, etc. Overtime usually prescheduled and compensated at time and 1/2 or with time off.

  • Occasional domestic or international travel is required. This position attends graduate school and career fairs, professional organization events and conferences, and meets with influencers (such as career advisors, faculty, alumni, etc.) who can support enrollment pipeline growth.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated experience in university admissions and/or recruitment. Experience in university recruitment of prospective applicants. Strong experience tracking and managing yield and experience developing recruitment strategies towards enrollment goals.

  • Experience promoting a university program with a sales approach using polished, professional language. Experience identifying prospective applicants' career and educational goals and providing program information that links an educational program to those goals.

  • Proven experience using market research/data to develop personalized outreach to qualified prospective applicants to increase enrollment goals. Experience reaching out to student groups, professional associations, employers to share information about a university degree program or similar program/services. Experience sourcing qualified prospective applicants from varied applicant pools.

  • Experience evaluating academic data, academic records, academic degree progress and professional/career experience. Experience analyzing and interpreting broadly defined admissions policies.

  • Strong communication skills. Experience providing information to clients/customers/students about a degree program or university service. Experience confidently speaking in front of small and large groups and experience responding to questions in a group setting. Experience using multiple online and other avenues to effectively communicate with others and to distribute information.

  • Demonstrated experience working with a diverse student population. Experience working with diverse populations including students, faculty, staff, campus administrators and the public.

  • Proven experience initiating rapport with clients, customers, students, prospective applicants, admitted students etc. Excellent customer service skills. Professional experience demonstrating tact, diplomacy, flexibility and empathy in dealing with students and colleagues.

  • Experience using an online admissions process. Experience maintaining database regarding applicants, applicant educational accomplishments, etc. Experience preparing applications for admissions committee review.

  • Experience using recruitment/admissions-related information systems including client relational databases (CRM) like TargetX, Salesforce, and other admissions software. Experience meticulously documenting contacts/information into a client database.

  • Strong collaboration skills. Multi-tasking and prioritization skills to meet deadlines. Experience working as part of a team.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in recruitment/admissions in a graduate business school. Knowledge of the nuances of recruiting in the competitive arena of graduate business schools; experience recruiting/admissions related to a MBA program.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

  • Job offer is contingent on clear Background Check.

  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally (Passport required) and must be able to rent a car, have auto insurance, etc.

  • Must have transportation to get to offsite activities. Must be able to transport and carry materials to offsite activities such as recruiting events, graduate school fairs, etc.
