Under supervision, the incumbent will be responsible for performing computational analysis of models of glycosylation and metabolism. The position requires use complex modeling algorithms and programming software (e.g., MATLAB, Python). Under supervision, the incumbent will integrate glycomics, metabolomics and transcriptomics data to study the Markov Chain modeling procedure. The incumbent needs to regularly document his work, leading to presentations, status reports, and/or publication(s).
Theoretical knowledge of a life science such as bioengineering, computer science, or biology.
Experience in Linux server use and maintenance.
Experience with cloud computing systems (e.g., Google Cloud, Amazon AWS)
Experience and ability to code in MATLAB, Python, and/or R.
Experience with metabolic network modeling.
Excellent computer skills and ability to learn new computer programs. Demonstrated knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook.
Ability to perform statistical analysis for parametric and non-parametric methods.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills needed to interact professionally and effectively in the work environment, as well as to effectively document research procedures. Ability to read, comprehend and discuss research materials.
Effective interpersonal skills. Ability to work with a variety of personnel from the laboratory.
Courteous, respectful of co-worker and maintain a safe and collegiate workplace environment
- Systems biology modeling.
