The Supervisor of the Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) Program reports jointly to the manager of cardiovascular operations and the ACHD Medical Director. The incumbent is responsible for the oversight and supervision of all non-clinical program aspects of the ACHD department. Subordinates include staff involved with professional operational functions. Oversight of administrative areas such as practice revenue management, billing systems and procedures, facilities and safety procedures, registration, new patient coordination, scheduling, medical records storage and maintenance, insurance authorizations. They will work closely with the charge nurse to address any concerns with the program or administrative staff and may supervise patient support staff such as medical assistants or LVNs, in coordination with the nursing lead.
This individual will also serve as an administrative coordinator, conducting administrative duties as required to ensure the department functions smoothly and patients are cared for timely. The supervisor also works closely with the following teams: Marketing and Business Development to improve/facilitate intake process and Patient Access; Medical Group Business Office and Health Sciences Contracting to ensure that all patient financial matters are handled properly; Regulatory affairs, the Cardiovascular outcomes team for quality, and will serve as the point person for the accreditation (and re-accredidation) of the program with the ACHA (adult congenital heart association).
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Three (3+) more years of relevant experience.
Experience with and thorough knowledge of the clinical and operational implications of medical billing practices including coding, billing systems and documentation requirements.
Thorough knowledge of ambulatory care clinic practice management including patient care workflows and processes.
Thorough understanding of medical terminology and specialized clinical knowledge of clinic practice area.
- Prior experience as a supervisor in a Healthcare system.
- Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, on-call and various locations based on business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
