The RN Education Program Specialist applies extensive knowledge of nursing education, clinical care, and training practices, including simulation, to develop and deliver education for nurses at the medical center, including all levels of care (progressive care through ICU). Selected candidate will manage training programs required by new graduate and newly hired RNs, support standardized training throughout nursing units, and build structures and processes to fulfill ANCC Transition to Practice Program accreditation. Training programs will have curriculum reviewed, updated with current evidence, and have equity/diversity/inclusion best practices embedded. This role will provide leadership to promote standardized clinical training, improved skills and competency to ensure quality patient outcomes.
Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the state of California.
BLS/CPR certification at time of hire with commitment to get UCSD BART within six (6) months of hire date.
Five (5+) or more years of nurse educator or other relevant experience.
Experience coordinating an education/training/orientation program.
Experience developing and delivering education, training, practice guidelines or policies, as well as facilitating nursing professional development.
Advanced degree in education or professional development.
Certified in nursing professional development (NPD-BC) or critical care (CCRN)
Experience working in a teaching hospital.
Experience with Learning Management Systems.
Project management experience.
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
