The Division of Medical Education within the UCSD School of Medicine is comprised of the following major units: Admissions & Student Affairs; Undergraduate Medical Education; Graduate Medical Education; and Continuing Medical Education & Faculty Development. Office of Education Technology, Innovation, and Assessment provides a broad range of technology resources and services to support students, faculty, and staff. The division supports the education, training and co-curricular activities of 500 medical students, 800 residents and fellows, as well as the faculty, physician and healthcare providers at UCSD’s School of Medicine and Medical Centers.
Uses professional concepts. Applies organizational policies and procedures to resolve a variety of institutional issues such as enrollment, alumni, assessment, faculty, and financial aid. Works on problems of limited to moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Analyzes student survey and evaluation data. Helps maintain Continuous Quality Improvement process in medical education. Assists with unit research studies. Prepares manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication and Institutional Review Board protocols. Assists with administrative tasks including scheduling.
Six (6) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor’s degree in related area plus two (2) years of related experience/training.
Experience with submitting manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications, including managing references and formatting.
Requires basic knowledge in data collection and analyses techniques; knowledge of common organization-specific computer application programs.
Solid active listening, critical thinking, good interpersonal skills and ability to multi-task.
Excellent communication and writing skills. Solid ability to present information in a clear concise manner verbally and in writing.
Able to provide high-level executive and administrative support including calendar support.
Understanding of organizational rules and regulations.
Able to provide good judgment, decision-making, and problem solving.
Knowledge of the Institutional Review Board Submission process and applications.
Able to work with various stakeholders and manage multiple calendars and schedules to ensure research projects are completed on time.
- Master's Degree preferred.
- Experience using Tableau and MedHub.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check.
- Occasional evenings and weekends may be required.
