This is a 100% limited position for five (5) months.
- The location of this position is in Woodland, CA near the University of California Davis at an off campus research facility.
The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) is in the Irwin and Joan Jacobs School of Engineering at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). It is a large interdisciplinary engineering department with over 1,000 undergraduate students, 400 graduate students and 40+ faculty.
The University of California San Diego is seeking a staff research associate to work on the development of catalysts for the synthesis of renewable fuels, specifically renewable natural gas. Using a laboratory scale fluidized-bed reactor the staff research associate will assist in conducting experiments to evaluate catalyst performance.
The location of this position is in Woodland, CA near the University of California Davis at an off campus research facility.
Experience with gas chromatography operations and data analysis.
BS Degree or technical experience in chemistry or engineering.
Working knowledge of basic lab safety procedures and requirements.
Laboratory experience with gas handling equipment and associated instrumentation.
Strong oral and written communications skills of technical data, including ability to effectively and accurately document research procedures.
Understanding of, and ability to, perform mathematical analysis.
Ability to work independently, follow through on assignments, and identify and analyze problems and resolve or recommend actions for resolution.
