The Liver Imaging Group is a diverse group of researchers working on many facets of liver imaging. We work with multiple modalities, including MRI, Ultrasound, and CT. Our research includes the development of quantitative imaging techniques, the development and validation of LI-RADS, and the translation of machine learning techniques into clinical practice.
Works on research data reporting assignments that are of moderate diversity in scope. Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Incumbent will work on the development and application of automated image processing. This includes quantitative image analysis, image feature segmentation, automation of existing analysis procedures, and the application of existing segmentation algorithms to new projects and datasets.
Six years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor’s degree in related area plus two years of related experience/training.
Working knowledge of research function. Demonstrated experience in an image acquisition and analysis environment.
Working skills in statistical analysis, systems programming, database design and data security measures. Demonstrated skill with R statistical programming, Python, and Matlab.
Working skills in analysis and consultation. Demonstrated experience working in Python and Matlab.
Skills to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing. Demonstrated skill in the synthesis and presentation of research results to a scientific audience.
Demonstrated skill with either Osirix or Horos imaging software.
- Experience working with the DICOM image format.
- Experience working with PACS image environment.
- Strong understanding of abdominal anatomy, typically acquired through completion of anatomy coursework or work in a scientific environment.
- Demonstrated experience working with MR Elastography acquisition or analysis.
- Experience within a UCSD clinical research environment.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check.
