Working under general supervision, the Ultrasound Tech independently performs and records all sonographic procedures in accordance with established departmental guidelines and protocols. Operates various types of ultrasound equipment, transducers, and recording devices. Recognizes normal and pathological conditions. Prepares and positions patient for procedure by using established Ultrasound protocols to achieve the highest quality image. Trouble shoots and resolves ultrasound related PACS issues. Reviews, verifies and evaluates images to ensure excellent image quality. Participates in performance improvement projects within the ultrasound department.
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS).
Graduate of a school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date required.
Recent experience in a similar role and setting.
Excellent communication skills.
Proficient computer skills.
Must possess the skills, knowledge, and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
- One (1) year of relevant experience.
- CAAHEP accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
- General and/or Vascular ultrasound experience.
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Job offer is contingent on successful engagement in the UC COVID-19 Vaccination program (fully vaccinated with documented proof or approved exception/deferral).
