Student Financial Services (SFS), housed within Business & Financial Services (BFS), is a multi-divisional organization (Student Business Services and Cashier's) that provides a broad range of services and programs encompassing Student Account Management, University Billing services, Loan Administration, Campus Card services, and Cashiering to students, faculty, staff, and the community. As a team of knowledgeable employees working in a fun and healthy environment, we strive to deliver a unified Student-Centered Financial solution through partnership, communication, and innovation while creating a positive client experience.
Incumbent serves as Financial Services Analyst within Central Cashier ---a division of Business and Financial Services(BFS). This position is responsible for cashiering operations, accounting reconciliation and financial analysis & administration. Incumbent will also serve in back-up capacity as a Cashier and Vault Custodian. Incumbent uses professional financial services concepts. Applies organization policies and procedures to resolve a variety of moderately complicated issues. Works on financial services problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
This position communicates customer service expectations to cashiering staff and exemplifies the highest degree of customer service. Acts as a liaison to campus departmental staff, faculty, and the general public regarding cashiering services offered. Provides expert knowledge to the campus community on cash control policies and procedures. Develops creative ways to streamline processes that assist customers to complete transactions more efficiently. The incumbent assists the Associate Director in strategic planning, business process improvement and in the development of long-range staffing plans for the Cashiers for the Cashiers Office.

- Occasional overtime may be required for Fiscal Close, special Student Orientation & Registration weekend events.
Bachelor's degree in related area; and/or equivalent experience/training.
Working knowledge of financial processes, policies and procedures. Knowledge of federal banking guidelines and operations and various forms of negotiable payments instruments including various forms of checks, currency, coin, foreign items, wire transfers, electronic funds transfers, and returned items.
Strong knowledge of financial data management and reporting systems. Ability to gather reasonably retrievable information to organize and perform basic financial analysis assignments. Working knowledge of accounting principles and policies.
Demonstrated experience in moderately complex financial analysis, fiscal management, and financial reports.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Thorough working knowledge of internal controls and cash handling techniques as practiced in banking, University, or other similar cashiering environments.
