UC San Diego Health is seeking an HTS and Oracle Finance Analytics Developer primarily responsible for developing our next generation of HTS Finance and financial applications reporting covering the HTS Finance and financial operational areas. This position will be responsible for data sourcing, SQL coding, BI visualizations, and the analysis of report results supporting real-time operational decision making. Development of these reports and analytics will occur both within Oracle Financial Cloud as well as Tableau.
The HTS and Oracle Finance Analytics Developer will work on a highly cohesive, dynamic, cross-functional, and multi-disciplinary (PeopleSoft and Oracle Financial Cloud) team to develop analytics to enable data-driven analysis and decision making throughout the enterprise. HTS and Oracle Finance Analytics Developer reports to the Oracle Finance Systems team in the Finance division and closely collaborates with senior financial and HR leadership on a regular basis. The HTS and Oracle Finance Analytics Developer will have work extensively within the Oracle EDMCS and Oracle FRC modules.
HCM and Oracle Finance Analytics Developer Requirements: The HTS and Oracle Finance Analytics Developer is responsible for system development, report specifications / development, ad hoc analysis, data validation, and system maintenance/integrity support in Oracle Financial Cloud and Tableau reports supporting PeopleSoft. Applicants should have mastery of Oracle Financial Cloud reporting products (OBIEE, Financials Reporting, Oracle BI Catalog, BI Publisher, Financial Reporting Center, Alternate Reporting Hierarchies, Enterprise Performance Management, etc.), Structured Query Language (SQL), and visualization tools like Tableau. Familiarity with data models including General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Project Portfolio Management, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, ERP, Supply Chain, Procurement, and more are strongly preferred. Familiarity with statistical and financial analysis is also strongly recommended.
Project Management: The HTS and Oracle Finance Analytics Developer is responsible for their own project plans in conjunction with the operational project managers to ensure timely and reliable product delivery. Specific duties include but are not limited to developing and maintaining project plans, directing work to/with other developers, creating status reports, facilitating decisions, identifying and mitigating risks, collecting and interpreting data from various sources, presenting measure and program results to financial and operations executives, and managing evolving technical requirements.
Product Management: The HTS and Oracle Finance Analytics Developer will function as the technical product manager responsible for developing and maintaining core reporting and analytics products for PeopleSoft and Oracle Financial Cloud. Product roadmaps should be developed in conjunction with senior leadership, operational stakeholders, and vendor advisors to ensure these products can meet business and financial requirements including scaling across multiple dimensions. Specific duties include but are not limited to facilitating strategic planning sessions, conducting product related research, developing product requirements and specifications, producing development approaches and timelines, coordinating the integration of products into the larger enterprise product portfolio, assessing third party products/vendor solutions, communication plans, training plans, writing recommendations to senior leadership, and creating maintenance/upgrade plans.
Data Systems Analyst:Involves the development and implementation of the organization's information systems and tools that are applied to financial information. Works closely with financial leaders across all hospital / healthcare departments to optimize effective use of systems. Coordinates analytical support for financial management, including business analytics / performance metrics. Defines systems and applications to support various functions. May provide customer service, troubleshooting and maintenance.
* Collaborates with business, technical, and financial leaders to plan, develop, implement, and analyze highly-complex financial and HCM information systems, and to design integrated architecture to ensure an optimal and efficient user experience and functionality, integrity, and reliability of data access and consumption.
* Serves as a technical leader in collaborating with business operations, financial leaders, and IT applications and technical teams to translate operations workflow and user experience objectives into technical requirements.
* Requires both technical and functional skill set to perform holistic analysis and troubleshooting to identify root cause of complex issues.
* Root cause analysis of end-to-end business process from understanding business processes, key fields, business reasoning and data flow through multiple systems Leads project teams that include advanced operational and financial staff to improve financial reporting availability and to provide advice and sophisticated metrics and analytics to support management’s decision-making processes that are cost-effective, scalable, and meet present and future needs.

* As a technical leader and information resource, may provide support, troubleshooting, and problem solving at an advanced level, and may produce and deliver user training curricula.

Nine years related experience, education/training in Oracle Financial Cloud or OBIEE reporting and analytics development OR a Bachelor’s degree in related area plus five years of related experience/training in Oracle Financial Cloud or OBIEE reporting and analytics development.
Thorough knowledge of business intelligence functions, analytics, industry standards and best practices.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation skills for a group setting; ability to manage multiple programs independently, setting priorities to meet deadlines.
Oracle EDMCS and Oracle FRC
Experience in Oracle Financial Cloud reporting products (OBIEE, Financials Reporting, Oracle BI Catalog, BI Publisher, Financial Reporting Center, Alternate Reporting Hierarchies, Enterprise Performance Management, etc.), Structured Query Language (SQL), and visualization tools like Tableau.
Professional experience and proven success demonstrating analytics product ownership, user interface optimization, financial decision support, financial analysis, data integration and mining, financial/business ontologies and adoption of technology.
Familiarity with accounting principles and financial reporting concepts.
Familiarity with healthcare domains such as patient access, ambulatory, inpatient, post-acute care, care management, and revenue cycle.
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
