Please note that this position is a part-time appointment
Under general supervision, performs waived, moderate, and high complexity testing; evaluates test results; performs and evaluates quality control procedures; performs preventive maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting. Provides laboratory services in a timely manner and consistently delivers excellent customer service. Serves as a technical resource for customers, other staff. Adheres to all safety policies.
Position will remain open until filled.
Depending on experience of the selected candidate, the incumbent will be hired at the CLS or CLS Specialist level.
Graduation from college with a major in an appropriate scientific field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) or approved subspecialty license if working in designated specialty area.
Less than two (2) years experience qualifies as CLS level; two (2) + years of experience qualifies as CLS Specialist.
Knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of duties assigned to the position.
- Clinical laboratory experience.
- Clinical laboratory experience in Molecular Genetics.
- Clinical Genetic Molecular Biology (CGMBS).
- Must be able to work all shifts, week-ends, holidays, overtime, and at various locations as necessary in accordance with operational needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Job offer is contingent on successful engagement in the UC COVID-19 Vaccination program (fully vaccinated with documented proof or approved exception/deferral).
